Larry Lippold on his work:

For as long as I can remember I have found inspiration in structures, and during the last twenty years architecture, in particular that of the Italian church, has been the main focus of my drawing.

I find a certain pleasure  being in a church, observing and sketching.  Great forms rise above in volumes of stone and space, and as the light moves through the darkness it is reflected from painted and gilt surfaces.  I hear the sound of people passing, but I am enclosed in the act of drawing, somehow in a different time.
